Adult Religious Education — 8 October 2017

Please join us on Sunday (8 October 2017) at 9:15 AM for our adult religious education class.  Following on the heels of reading of Waking Up White by Debby Irving, we will watch A Class Divided.

This is a 1985 documentary on the reunion of an all-white third grade class that learned a valuable lesson about racism with the widely known and praised experiment pitting the “Blue eyes” against the “Brown eyes.”

The first class where teacher Jane Elliott performed the experiment was in 1968, right after the assassination of Martin Luther King.  This film was made with her class in 1970.
