\"\"<\/a>Please join us this Sunday (28 August 2022) at 11:00 AM for “Oil and Water:\u00a0 A Water Communion Service” by Rev. Barbara Jarrell.<\/p>\n

We will be meeting in the sanctuary for this worship service.\u00a0 Please join us in person at All Souls Unitarian Universalist Church, 9449 Ellerbe Road, Shreveport LA\u00a0 71106<\/a>\u00a0if you are able to do so.<\/p>\n

Our service will also be livestreamed on Facebook Live here if you cannot attend in person<\/a>.<\/p>\n

This Sunday is our annual end-of-summer water communion worship service<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Our members and friends bring water from their summer experiences to pour into a common vessel and share the stories of their water.<\/p>\n

The water could be from a faraway land, the faucet of your new apartment, or the kiddie pool where the kids cooled off.<\/p>\n

If you forget to bring water, we will have some on hand to symbolize the water from your story.<\/p>\n

Each year, we boil, filter, and freeze the water (adding it to the water we have saved from past water communions).\u00a0 No one drinks this water.\u00a0 Instead, we use it for baby dedications and other rituals.<\/p>\n

After the service, be sure to join us for our end-of-summer swim party and potluck<\/a> at the home of Kathy Osuch and Mike Roberts.<\/p>\n

Although the number of new COVID cases and hospitalizations has increased<\/a> in the Shreveport metro area, we are still safe to have to in-person worship at this time.<\/p>\n

We no longer require proof of vaccination against COVID for all attendees ages 11 and up for indoor events.<\/p>\n

However, we do strongly encourage that anyone attending our worship services or other indoor events at All Souls be vaccinated against COVID.<\/p>\n

We are also required the wearing of masks for all in-person attendees for all indoor events.<\/p>\n

Religious education classes for children and youth resumes this Sunday as well.\u00a0 The children and youth will be with us for the first 15-20 minutes of the worship service before we sing them out to their classes.<\/p>\n

Our August 2022 give-away-the-plate recipient is Basic Necessities<\/a>.<\/p>\n
