\"\"<\/a>Please join us on the first of our fun religious education Summer activities for children and youth — Tie-Dye Sunday<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The Sunday before Father’s Day is our annual “Tie-Dye for Dads and Other Special People” in the religious education wing.<\/p>\n

Children and youth should bring a 100% cotton garment to tie dye.<\/p>\n

More than one garment will probably be OK.\u00a0 Bandanas, aprons, and tote bags are all OK, too, as long as they are cotton because that holds the dye better.<\/p>\n

We will have a few extra shirts on hand for donation but bringing your own guarantees the size and style you want.<\/p>\n

Like most Sundays at All Souls, the kids will be with us in the sanctuary until we sing them out to their activity.<\/p>\n

Advice for those who are tie-dyeing:<\/strong><\/p>\n

  1. Wear your grubby clothes including shoes.\u00a0 The dyes we use are permanent so wear clothes to which you won’t mind adding a little extra color. We do have old t-shirts the children can slip on as smocks if they need to protect their clothing.<\/li>\n
  2. When you arrive at church, bring your tie-dye item back to the back patio, write your child’s name in the collar (or have them write it) and put the garment in the soda ash solution to soak before dyeing.\u00a0 This will help to set the dye.<\/li>\n
  3. Be sure you leave with instructions for caring for the garment when you get home, so that all the artistry is preserved to the greatest extent possible.<\/li>\n
  4. Grownups are welcome to tie-dye something after the service.\u00a0 We will show you how it’s done.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
