\"\"<\/a>Each month we dedicate all of our non-pledge income to a community organization doing the work that best embodies our Unitarian Universalist values<\/a>.<\/p>\n

For the month of April 2026, we choose The Philadelphia Center<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The Philadelphia Center is the HIV Resource Center in Northwest Louisiana.<\/p>\n

Their mission is to empower people living with HIV, to eliminate new HIV transmissions, and to enhance community wellness.<\/p>\n

They provide no cost confidential HIV, hepatitis C, and syphilis testing to anyone in the community with results available in 20 minutes<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The GBT Clinic provides preventive health care and treatment for gay men, bisexual men, and transgender persons<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) program<\/a> provides preventive medication that reduce the risk of HIV transmission.\u00a0 Studies have shown that it is 99% effective if taken as directed.<\/p>\n

The Syringe Services Programs (SSPS)<\/a> help persons who inject drugs to avoid or reduce injection-related health risks by providing\u00a0 sterile syringe and proper equipment for every injection.<\/p>\n

Their counselors connect clients living with HIV\/AIDS to support services<\/a> like case management, transportation, food vouchers, housing\/utility assistance, support groups, and substance and mental health counseling.<\/p>\n

The Mercy Center<\/a> provides housing for unhoused people living with HIV\/AIDS.<\/p>\n

Online<\/strong> — Go to our donation site using this link<\/a>.\u00a0 If you are paying your pledge, select “2026 Pledges” and enter that amount for your pledge contribution.\u00a0 Then select “Collection Plate” to give the amount you would like to give to The Philadelphia Center and then put “GATP APR 2026” or “Philadelphia Center” in the comment section.\u00a0 All online collection plate contributions for the month of April 2026 will go to The Philadelphia Center.<\/p>\n
