{"id":2802,"date":"2013-09-07T09:45:32","date_gmt":"2013-09-07T14:45:32","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/allsoulsshreveport.org\/site\/?p=2802"},"modified":"2013-09-07T09:45:32","modified_gmt":"2013-09-07T14:45:32","slug":"8-september-2013-worship-service-and-religious-education-classes","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/allsoulsshreveport.org\/site\/2013\/09\/07\/8-september-2013-worship-service-and-religious-education-classes\/","title":{"rendered":"8 September 2013 Worship Service and Religious Education Classes"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/allsoulsshreveport.org\/site\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/09\/sarah-claudia-richard.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"sarah-claudia-richard\" src=\"http:\/\/allsoulsshreveport.org\/site\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/09\/sarah-claudia-richard-300x124.jpg\" width=\"300\" height=\"124\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Please join us on Sunday (8 September 2013) at 10:30 AM for our Homecoming Worship Service.\u00a0 The service&#8217;s title is &#8220;This I Believe&#8221; and the theme it will address is our free and responsible search for truth and meaning.<\/p>\n<p>In this service, you will hear the personal credo statements of three All Souls members:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Sarah Boswell<\/li>\n<li>Claudia Harris<\/li>\n<li>Richard Denton<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>We will also honor nine of our members who have been members for 25 years or longer.\u00a0 We will also have an ingathering of new members.<\/p>\n<p>The All Souls Choir will sing and the children and youth will remain in the sanctuary to take part in the service.\u00a0 Join us in the Social Hall following the service for a brief reception and a birthday celebration for one of the youngest of our community &#8212; Everly Gibson.<\/p>\n<p>On Sunday at 9:30 AM, we will also continue on with our all-ages religious education classes for focusing on Unitarian Universalist identity and theology.<\/p>\n<p><!--more-->And don&#8217;t forget that next Sunday (15 September 2013), you are invited to bring back the sheets you were given during the 1 September 2013 worship service on which you were to write down the things in your life that no longer serve and from which you wish to be free.<\/p>\n<p>We will have a burning ceremony at the end of the 15 September 2013 worship service to help you release them.\u00a0 Don&#8217;t worry if you didn&#8217;t get one &#8230; you can get them this Sunday or next.\u00a0 And you can always write these things on any sheet of paper.\u00a0 The chart on the sheet was to guide you in thinking about the different aspects of your life:\u00a0 health, relationships, work, matters of the spirit, etc.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Note:<\/strong>\u00a0 The additional homecoming celebration that had been tentatively planned for Saturday evening (7 September 2013) has been cancelled.\u00a0 We did not want to compete with the opening reception for the <a href=\"http:\/\/nlglff.org\/\" target=\"_blank\">North Louisiana Gay and Lesbian Film Festival<\/a> at the Robinson Film Center (as a film festival co-sponsor, we want to support this event as well).\u00a0 However, we hope you will join us for Sunday morning&#8217;s Homecoming celebration worship.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Please join us on Sunday (8 September 2013) at 10:30 AM for our Homecoming Worship Service.\u00a0 The service&#8217;s title is &#8220;This I Believe&#8221; and the theme it will address is our free and responsible search for truth and meaning.
