Starting next Sunday (8 June\u00a02014),\u00a0the 9:00 AM Religious Education\u00a0hour for children and youth\u00a0will take a break for the summer. \u00a0We will have one service at 10:30 AM. \u00a0We will “sing out” the children and youth for their summer activities for most Sunday services.<\/p>\n

This summer, the children and youth will have some “Direct Experience with that Transcending Mystery and Wonder” with a combination of some time-honored summer traditions and some new activities and projects.<\/p>\n

\"Tie-Dye\"<\/a>For next Sunday (8 June\u00a02014):<\/strong>
\nTie-Dye for Dads and Other Special Grown-up!<\/strong><\/p>\n

Annually in June (on the Sunday before Father’s Day), our children and youth have the opportunity to create one-of-a-kind wearable art for their Dads and others to wear to church on Father’s Day.<\/p>\n

Children and youth are encouraged to wear their grubbies (clothing that can handle stains … and that applies to shoes, too) and to bring a 100% cotton t-shirt or other fabric item to dye (Prewashed is better for holding the dye but we do soak them ahead of time).<\/p>\n

We will have bandanas and a few shirts on hand for donation, but bringing your own insures the right size and fit.<\/p>\n

Bear in mind that we have a guest minister in the pulpit that Sunday (Rev. Jim VanderWeele<\/a> — Community Church Unitarian Universalist in New Orleans<\/a>). \u00a0Adults who love tie-dye but aren’t helping supervise the children and youth can go to the service and still have time to do a shirt afterward.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
