Jim VanderWeele<\/a> (<a href=\"http:\/\/communitychurchuu.org\/\" target=\"_blank\">Community Church Unitarian Universalist of New Orleans<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p>In his sermon, Jim will step into the feeling of vulnerability that lives within many if not all of us.<\/p>\n<p>He will use the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Jonah+1&amp;version=NRSV\" target=\"_blank\">first chapter of Jonah<\/a> &#8212; the story of a prophet who lost his respect for being a prophet &#8212; to point out the difference between feelings and the facts of the matter.<\/p>\n<p>Our children and youth will join the community for the first 15-20 minutes of the worship before leaving for their exciting activity:<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/allsoulsuushreveport.org\/cms\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/Tie-Dye.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft wp-image-3511\" src=\"http:\/\/allsoulsuushreveport.org\/cms\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/Tie-Dye-300x295.jpg\" alt=\"Tie-Dye\" width=\"150\" height=\"148\" srcset=\"https:\/\/allsoulsshreveport.org\/site\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/Tie-Dye-300x295.jpg 300w, https:\/\/allsoulsshreveport.org\/site\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/Tie-Dye.jpg 437w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 150px) 85vw, 150px\" \/><\/a>Tie-Dye for Dads and Other Special Grown-up!<\/strong><br \/>\nEach\u00a0June (on the Sunday before Father\u2019s Day), our children and youth have the opportunity to create one-of-a-kind wearable art for their Dads and others to wear to church on Father\u2019s Day.<\/p>\n<p>Children and youth are encouraged to wear their grubbies (clothing that can handle stains \u2026 and that applies to shoes, too) and to bring a 100% cotton t-shirt or other fabric item to dye (Prewashed is better for holding the dye but we do soak them ahead of time).<\/p>\n<p>We will have bandanas and a few shirts on hand for donation, but bringing your own insures the right size and fit.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Please join us at 10:30 AM on Sunday (8 June 2014) for &#8220;I&#8217;m Feeling Vulnerable&#8221; by Rev.
