\"CarltonSmith\"<\/a>Please join us on Sunday morning (2 November 2014) at 9:30 AM for our\u00a0Adult Religious Education Class —\u00a0A Discussion with Rev. Carlton Smith. \u00a0Rev. Smith serves as one of seven Congregational Life Staff in the Southern Region of the Unitarian Unitarian Universalist Association (UUA)<\/a> and is the primary UUA contact for congregations in Alabama, Louisiana, Tennessee, Mississippi and Pensacola FL.<\/p>\n

Since we recently finished our Sunday morning discussion of the UUA Common Read<\/a> (Paul Rasor’s Reclaiming Prophetic Witness<\/em><\/a>), we’ve asked Rev. Smith to talk with us about his perspective on our prophetic role as Unitarian Universalists in the public conversation.<\/p>\n

Barbara has requested that all members read the Rasor’s book, whether or not you are taking the class. \u00a0She says:<\/p>\n

“Toward sharpening our vision this single effort will add common references, language and understanding as we move forward together. And it will help you be a more informed participant and contributor in those efforts. Please join us in class or at least in reading if you can– if you will.”<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

For those who haven’t been able to attend the Sunday morning classes, read the book and watch this space for news of a single-session evening meeting after the first of the year.<\/p>\n

The cost for the trade paperback edition is $15.00, but no one who wishes to participate in the class will be denied a book for monetary reasons. \u00a0You may also order the book for Kindle here for $7.99.<\/p>\n
