{"id":5501,"date":"2016-06-11T17:48:42","date_gmt":"2016-06-11T22:48:42","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/allsoulsshreveport.org\/site\/?p=5501"},"modified":"2016-10-09T19:03:24","modified_gmt":"2016-10-10T00:03:24","slug":"tie-dye-sunday-12-june-2016","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/allsoulsshreveport.org\/site\/2016\/06\/11\/tie-dye-sunday-12-june-2016\/","title":{"rendered":"Tie-Dye Sunday &#8212; 12 June 2016"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/allsoulsshreveport.org\/site\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/Tie-Dye.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright wp-image-3511\" src=\"http:\/\/allsoulsshreveport.org\/site\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/Tie-Dye-300x295.jpg\" alt=\"Tie-Dye\" width=\"250\" height=\"246\" srcset=\"https:\/\/allsoulsshreveport.org\/site\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/Tie-Dye-300x295.jpg 300w, https:\/\/allsoulsshreveport.org\/site\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/Tie-Dye.jpg 437w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 250px) 85vw, 250px\" \/><\/a>Instead of traditional classroom activities, our children and youth have fun community-building and learning activities instead.<\/p>\n<p>For this Sunday (12 June 2016), we will have &#8220;Tie-Dye for Dads and Other Special Grown-Ups&#8221;!<\/p>\n<p>This is an annual Sunday-Before-Father&#8217;s Day tradition &#8212; led by Richard Denton (patriarch of the Denton Tie-Dyenasty).<\/p>\n<p>The children and youth can tie-dye shirts, tote bags, bandanas, BBQ\u00a0aprons, or any 100% cotton items for dads or other special grown-ups in their lives\u00a0including\u00a0themselves.<\/p>\n<p><!--more-->Please note that the dyes we use are <strong>permanent<\/strong>. \u00a0They make beautiful garments, and they can also become a permanent part of the garments you are wearing at the time. \u00a0<strong>Please dress your kids in clothing and shoes that you don&#8217;t mind getting splashed with a random bit of dye.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>We have old t-shirts available to use as smocks to protect their clothing.<\/p>\n<p>But this is not the Sunday to dress them in that cute outfit you are saving for the family photos to give\u00a0grandma. And if you&#8217;re an adult helping out, that&#8217;s good advice for you, too.<\/p>\n<p>Children and youth should bring a 100% cotton white or light-colored t-shirt or other item to tie-dye.<\/p>\n<p>You do not have to buy a new shirt &#8212; this is a great way to rejuvenate old or stained t-shirts!<\/p>\n<p>We will have some shirts available in assorted sizes for a $5.00 suggested donation in case you forget.
