Carlton Elliott Smith.<\/p>\n<p>What are we willing to sacrifice for the well-being of our loved ones? \u00a0What about for people we don&#8217;t even know, but for whom we feel deep empathy?<\/p>\n<p>Today, we explore the nature of risk and human caring as we remember those in our faith who defied evil though their lives were in danger.<\/p>\n<p>Rev. Smith is a Congregational Life Staff for the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.uuasouthernregion.org\/\" target=\"_blank\">Southern Region of the Unitarian Universalist Association<\/a> and is the primary contact for UU congregations in Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Tennessee, and Pensacola, Florida.<\/p>\n<p>He lives in the Memphis area and has been an ordained UU minister for 21 years.<\/p>\n<p>Before returning to the Southeast, Rev.
