{"id":8693,"date":"2020-05-09T15:02:11","date_gmt":"2020-05-09T20:02:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/allsoulsshreveport.org\/site\/?p=8693"},"modified":"2020-05-16T01:19:54","modified_gmt":"2020-05-16T06:19:54","slug":"online-adult-religious-education-10-may-2020","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/allsoulsshreveport.org\/site\/2020\/05\/09\/online-adult-religious-education-10-may-2020\/","title":{"rendered":"Online Adult Religious Education \u2014 10 May 2020"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Please join us on Sunday (10 May 2020) at 9:15 AM for our adult religious education class via <a title=\"\" href=\"https:\/\/zoom.us\/j\/428691156?pwd=OXV2QnNDVmVUQVdrVkN0dlV5MEJ5Zz09\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Zoom<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>We will be starting Faith Forward:\u00a0 Spiritual Practice with &#8220;Session 3 &#8212; Keeping Sabbath.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>This morning we&#8217;ll explore the idea of Sabbath time, what that means to each of us, and how we carve it out of our days, now and as we begin to transition to a new normal.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/allsoulsshreveport.org\/site\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/TreeofContemplativePractices.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-8645\" src=\"https:\/\/allsoulsshreveport.org\/site\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/TreeofContemplativePractices.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"636\" height=\"820\" srcset=\"https:\/\/allsoulsshreveport.org\/site\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/TreeofContemplativePractices.jpg 636w, https:\/\/allsoulsshreveport.org\/site\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/TreeofContemplativePractices-233x300.jpg 233w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 709px) 85vw, (max-width: 909px) 67vw, (max-width: 984px) 61vw, (max-width: 1362px) 45vw, 600px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>As we enter our focus on personal spiritual growth and development, we&#8217;ll look at this program (developed by <a title=\"\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dallasuu.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">First Unitarian Church of Dallas, Texas<\/a>) where members are asked to commit to a daily spiritual practice, monthly communal worship, an annual retreat, and at least one once-in-a-lifetime experience of pilgrimage (not necessarily a geographic pigrimage).<\/p>\n<p>The second session will include an experience of meditation as well as a look at the difference between spiritual exploration and spiritual discipline (both of which are important to a spiritual life).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Please join us on Sunday (10 May 2020) at 9:15 AM for our adult religious education class via Zoom.
