What word best describes our Volunteer of the Month for September 2012 ?
Platinum.
Why? Gold can’t begin to measure the time, effort, and love that this man has put into everything Ron Thurston does for our congregation.
He has been a welcoming smile to newcomers for a long time. He currently serve on the Council as Membership Committee Chair, has served on the Board in various positions, including as a past president, taught Religious Education classes, acted as a substitute sexton, and regularly helps with both the Saturday Work Days and the Community Garden.
If you somehow manage to ask him a question that he doesn’t know the answer to, he laughs and says that he will find out — and he does. For all these reasons, the Council is happy to name Ron Thurston as our Volunteer of the Month.
