We will conclude our study of Nature’s God: The Heretical Origins of the American Republic by Matthew Stewart
Stewart has written a compelling history of the founding of our nation that includes quite a few stories your teacher never told you and is also a history of ideas that shaped our nation.
It serves to refute a frequent claim heard nowadays that our nation was founded as a “Christian nation.”
This Sunday we finish our discussion of Chapter 7 — “The Empire of Reason.”

Next Sunday (22 March 2015), we will begin our discussion of The Good Heart: A Buddhist Perspective on the Teachings of Jesus by the Dalai Lama. The church will be ordering ten copies this week and will order more copies upon request.
