25 September 2016 Worship Service and Religious Education for Children and Youth

revcarltonsmithPlease join us on Sunday (25 September 2016) at 11:00 AM for “No Greater Love” by Rev. Carlton Elliott Smith.

What are we willing to sacrifice for the well-being of our loved ones?  What about for people we don’t even know, but for whom we feel deep empathy?

Today, we explore the nature of risk and human caring as we remember those in our faith who defied evil though their lives were in danger.

Rev. Smith is a Congregational Life Staff for the Southern Region of the Unitarian Universalist Association and is the primary contact for UU congregations in Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Tennessee, and Pensacola, Florida.

He lives in the Memphis area and has been an ordained UU minister for 21 years.

Before returning to the Southeast, Rev. Smith served congregations in the Northeast Corridor and in the San Francisco area.

Religious education classes for children and youth are offered during the 11:00 AM service — children and youth attend the first 15-20 minutes of the service and then are dismissed to class.
