An Opportunity to Feed the Fuller Center Builders — Friday, 3 May 2013 — Volunteers Arrive at 5:15 PM — Our Lady of The Blessed Sacrament (1558 Buena Vista, Shreveport LA).
Many of you may have heard that Roger Waters of Pink Floyd has made a large donation to the Fuller Center for Housing for the purpose of building houses for veterans.
Every week, crews from all over the country are coming in to work on the build for a week at a time.
Congregations and other organizations from across the Shreveport-Bossier area are taking turns feeding the workers.
Friday (3 May 2013) All Souls will provide dinner as a part of the Highland Ministries Partnership (Note – you will also see the workers when they come to eat at the Highland Blessing Dinner on Thursday evening).
There are 20 people on the crew and we will feed them Friday evening at Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament.
Volunteers arrive at 5:15 PM to be ready to serve between 5:30 and 6:00 PM.
All paper products and utensils will be provided by Fuller Center (unless you serve soup then you bring bowls).
No cooking can be done at the church so bring all food hot/cold and ready to serve. You are in charge of clean-up and can ask volunteers to help with this task.
We are still working on the menu and so far we have volunteers to bring a tossed salad, drinks and ice, a main dish to be announced, and a bread to be announced.
We are still looking for a dessert volunteer, and a number of people to help us set up, serve and clean up.
