Memorial Service for Dr. Raghunath Prasad Misra

RaghunathMisraA memorial celebration of the life of Dr Raghunath Misra will on Saturday (29 June 2013) at 10:30 AM in the sanctuary.  “Raghu” and his wife, Therese, joined the church in 1978, and have been very supportive of the church and its endeavors ever since.

Dr. Misra had a long, distinguished career as a pathologist at LSU Health Sciences Center in Shreveport, where he had been on staff since 1976.  Throughout his life, he maintained a deep personal interest in spiritual matters.  Many of you may remember his recent Member Reflection in March 2013 when he spoke of his connection to his Hindu roots and of the importance of a place like All Souls as a haven for free religious thought and exploration.

In addition to his wife Therese Misra, he is survived by four daughters, their spouses, and seven grandchildren:  Sima Misra, her husband Chris Siebel and their children, Kiran and Aden; Joya Misra, her husband David Mednicoff and their two children, Amina and Rabi; Maya Misra, her husband Chris Muhlstein and their two children, Thea and Clio, and Tara Misra, her husband Ned Leffingwell, and their daughter Arwyn.

He will be missed by all who knew him. All who wish to do so are welcome to join the family after the service for time together at Indigo Indian Bistro (8660 Fern Avenue #200, Shreveport LA).

Memorial contributions may be given to the LSU Health Sciences Foundation in Shreveport, or to the Food Bank of Northwest Louisiana.
