26 February 2017 Worship Service and Religious Education for Children and Youth

Please join us on Sunday (26 February 2017) at 11:00 AM for “Who Is Talking to Us?” by Rev. Barbara Jarrell.

How do we open dialogue with those who think differently from us, and the surprising places where that dialogue may be opening already.

The All Souls Choir will sing at this service.

Religious education classes for children and youth are offered during the 11:00 AM service — children and youth attend the first 15-20 minutes of the service and then are dismissed to class.

19 February 2017 All-Ages Worship

Please join us on Sunday (19 February 2017) at 11:00 AM for “Knowing Our Neighbors” with the children, youth, and adults of All Souls.

Join us for a service in celebration of our Third Source (“Wisdom of the world’s religions, which inspires us in our ethical and spiritual life”) and our Sixth Principle (“The goal of world community, with peace, liberty and justice for all”).

To study and learn from other traditions is an important part of our own lives –not only to increase our own knowledge and enrich our spiritual path — but also to help us better to understand those with whom we share our community and our planet.

This is the way we break down the barriers of ignorance and fear that might otherwise divide us.

The service will feature presentations from our religious education classes and music from the All Souls Choir.

Adult Religious Education — 12 February 2017

Please join us on Sunday (12 February 2017) at 9:15 AM for our adult religious education class.

We are beginning a study group for the book Dignity:  The Essential Role It Plays in Resolving Conflict by Donna Hicks, PhD.

In her work with businesses, schools, organizations, and governments, Donna Hicks has come to draw a distinction between “respect” and “dignity.”

We often see respect as something that must be earned, or can be lost.

We do not have to respect bad behavior but we do need to grant each person basic dignity just as we are entitled to claim that for ourselves.

This is an important book for these contentious times and we hope to make it a congregational read.

We will have ten more books available for purchase this Sunday at a cost of $14.00,

The book is also available to order from Amazon in paperback or electronic formats.
