18 February 2018 Worship Service and Religious Education for Children and Youth

Please joins us on Sunday (18 February 2018) at 11:00 AM for “Willingness and Belief” by Rev. Barbara Jarrell.

This week, we continue our focus on World Religions, specifically our Third Source, our Sixth Principle and our Sixth Source. In a hard week to do so, Barbara explores the challenge of living into the inherent optimism of our tradition.

Religious education classes for children and youth are offered during the 11:00 AM service.

Children and youth attend the first 15-20 minutes of the service and then are dismissed to class.

Adult Religious Education — 18 February 2018

Please join us on Sunday (18 February 2018) at 9:15 AM for our adult religious education class.

We continue our focus on our third source — “Wisdom of the world’s religions which inspires us in our ethical and spiritual life.”

This morning, we learn about “Seeking the Ox (A Taoist Story).”

This is the story of the spiritual quest as told through this ancient narrative.

Come and explore it with us.

11 February 2018 Worship Service and Religious Education for Children and Youth

Please join us on Sunday (11 February 2018) at 11:00 AM for “Living Out Fragile Freedoms and Ecumenism as a Baptist from East Texas” by Rev. Dr. John Henson (Church for the Highlands — Shreveport LA).

This week — as we we continue our focus on our third source, our sixth principle, and our sixth source — we welcome back to our pulpit the Rev. Dr. John Henson of Church for the Highlands (a congregation of the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship and the founding partner congregation of Highland Center Ministries).

He will explore his own experience with multifaith interaction and understanding, and its importance to his own path.

Religious education classes for children and youth are offered during the 11:00 AM service.

Children and youth attend the first 15-20 minutes of the service and then are dismissed to class.

Adult Religious Education — 11 February 2018

Please join us on Sunday (11 February 2018) at 9:15 AM for our adult religious education class.

We continue our focus on our third source — “Wisdom of the world’s religions which inspires us in our ethical and spiritual life.”

This morning, we will explore two traditions from China — Taoism and Confucianism, their founders, their history, their teachings, and their relationship to each other in Chinese culture.

Building and Grounds Work Day (10 February 2018)

Please join us on Saturday (10 February 2018) from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM for our monthly building and grounds work day.

The maintenance of our congregation’s building and grounds is — in very large part — in our hands.

Other than basic weekly cleaning and yard maintenance, the people who tend to the sustenance of our facility — inside and out — are our members and friends.

Join us for the whole time, or just an hour, as you are able.

Can’t stay?  Consider dropping off snacks for the crew.

Any and all help is appreciated.
