29 October 2017 Worship Service and Religious Education for Children and Youth

Please join us on Sunday (29 October 2017) at 11:00 AM for “A New Look at an Old Path” by Rev. Barbara Jarrell.

As we begin our pillar of emphasis on our Jewish and Christian Heritage, we look at some new currents in Christian thought that might help us to re-frame ideas from the Christian tradition — in some cases ideas carried over from childhood and in other cases simply ideas that are foreign to those who have not grown up with them.

Please join us immediately after the service for a Harvest / Halloween Potluck.

Religious education classes for children and youth are offered during the 11:00 AM service.

Children and youth attend the first 15-20 minutes of the service and then are dismissed to class.

8 October 2017 Worship Service and Religious Education for Children and Youth

Please join us on Sunday (8 October 2017) at 11:00 AM for “Not an Occasional Act” by Rev. Barbara Jarrell.

This service in the sanctuary concludes with a ceremony outdoors for releasing regret and all that no longer serves us.

We will have a newcomer session following the service for all interested persons.  At this session, you are invited to watch a video, ask questions, and learn more about our faith as we learn more about you (as you are comfortable sharing with us).

17 September 2017 Worship Service and Religious Education for Children and Youth

Please join us on Sunday (17 September 2017) at 11:00 AM for “Home in a Community of Seekers” by Rev. Barbara Jarrell.  This is our annual homecoming service.

Whether you have been a longtime member, a member who hasn’t attended in awhile, a former member or a friend; we want you to come home and to feel at home in this covenanted community where love will always call us back.

We will be recognizing new members and honoring those members who have reached the 25 year mark.  Please come and join us in celebrating them.

We will have a potluck lunch immediately following the service.  Please bring a dish to share and join us for the celebration. If you can help with setup or cleanup, please call or text Amanda Lawrence at 318-402-3314.

Religious education classes for children and youth are offered during the 11:00 AM service.  Children and youth attend the first 15-20 minutes of the service and then are dismissed to class.

3 September 2017 Worship Service and Religious Education for Children and Youth

Please join us on Sunday (3 September 2017) at 11:00 AM for “A Place Within a Dynamic Faith” by Rev. Barbara Jarrell.

This Sunday begins the season of our church year when our focus turns to Unitarian Universalist identity — the principles and sources of our faith, the values we hold dear in our covenanted community, and the people who created and walked the path before us.

Today also begins the religious education year for our children and youth — religious education classes for children and youth are offered during the 11:00 AM service.

Children and youth attend the first 15-20 minutes of the service and then are dismissed to class.
