PeterHuffPlease join us on Sunday (16 November 2014) at 11:00 AM for “The Francis Effect” by Dr. Peter Huff.

Adored by millions (and a little unsettling to a few cardinals), Pope Francis is changing the face of the papacy.

Come and join us to learn more about this groundbreaking Pope and what his papacy may ultimately mean to the Church and the world.

Dr. Peter Huff of Centenary College has been a great friend to All Souls.

He is a past recipient of our Emerson Award for his silent meditative protest at the beginning of the Iraqi War and for all that he has done for interfaith unity and understanding in our community.

Many of you will remember that he also gave the prayer at Barbara’s ordination.

We are saddened to say that this will be our last opportunity to hear him in our pulpit as he has accepted a position at the University of Mary in Bismarck, North Dakota.

Religious Education classes for Children and Youth are offered during the 11:00 AM service.  Children and youth attend the first 15-20 minutes of the service, then are dismissed to their classes.

Come and find out …

… what a very few people can become and do when their lives catch on fire with mission to love who and what others find unloveable, or as we say, when they love the hell out of this world, and how this is part of a big revolution in the why of church, that affects the how, the what, and the who of church.

Rev. Ron Robinson is Executive Director of the Unitarian Universalist Christian Fellowship, adjunct faculty in practical theology and director of ministerial formation at Phillips Theological Seminary, and founder of the Welcome Table Church and A Third Place Community Foundation in Turley OK.

You can also join us at 9:30 AM for an Adult Religious Education hour with Rev. Robinson.

The All Souls Choir will sing — many thanks to Robert Smith for stepping in to direct the choir.

Rev. Smith serves as one of seven Congregational Life Staff in the Southern Region of the Unitarian Unitarian Universalist Association (UUA) and is the primary UUA contact for congregations in Alabama, Louisiana, Tennessee, Mississippi and Pensacola FL.

Please join us to welcome Beth Compa who will explore the ways we are channeling our state’s resources and how we might strive to do that more responsibly:

Why do we pour money into the vengeful act of killing while others go hungry, young kids don’t have access to the early education that we know makes an essential difference in their lives, young working parents struggle to make ends meet — what other choices might we make to manifest the society and community we want?

Special musical guests will be Keith Grimwood (Trout Fishing in America) and Sandra Odom.

Religious Education classes for Children and Youth are offered during the 11:00 AM service. Children and youth attend the first 15-20 minutes of the service, then are dismissed to their classes.

Please join us on Sunday (28 September 2014) at 11:00 AM for “I Know the War on Women Is Real” by Melissa Gibson.

Many advances we thought we had won for women are now once again in jeopardy.  But while you’ll hear the bad news, you’ll also be reminded of what we can do as individuals and as a community to preserve and expand the rights of women — and in so doing, create a better world for all people.

Oh — and you’ll also get a new take on the Cinderella story.

Mason Upton is our special musical guest.

Religious Education classes for Children and Youth are offered during the 11:00 AM service. Children and youth attend the first 15-20 minutes of the service, then are dismissed to their classes.
