On Sunday (19 January 2014) at 9:00 AM in honor of the birthday celebration of the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, All Souls will host a Social Justice Fair in conjunction with our Sunday service. Local organizations working for justice in various arenas are invited to have a table in the Social Hall to distribute literature, to promote the work of your organization, and to network with others.
For our 10:30 AM worship service, retired Shreveport civil rights attorney Henry Walker will speak on “Foxes in the Hen House” which discusses the civil rights issues currently confronting our community, our state and our nation. Henry is always an inspiring speaker and will help you get recharged for the work ahead as we begin 2014.
Focusing on our Third Source, the children and youth begin their pillar on World Religions this Sunday. The Social Justice Fair will begin at 9:00 AM in lieu of our adult religious education hour and will continue after the 10:30 service — ending between 12:00 PM and 12:30 PM.
