Please join us on Sunday (26 August 2018) at 11:00 AM for “That’s Part of the Ocean, Too” by Rev. Barbara Jarrell.
Our annual water communion service is an “end of summer reunion” where we bring water from our various summer experiences to pour into a common vessel as we briefly share our stories of the water we’ve brought.
Your water may come from far away or it may be from a puddle in your backyard or your kiddie pool or your kitchen sink.
And we will have symbolic water on hand if you forget to bring yours.
The water is boiled, filtered, and frozen, and used for baby dedications, naming ceremonies and other rites of passage (this is for ceremonial use and not for drinking).
Following the service, we will have our annual end of Summer swim party and potluck at the home of Kathy Osuch and Mike Roberts (address will be available on the Caring Connection and Religious Education Facebook groups and on a flyer at the church — you can also email Kathy for the information).
Bring an appetizer, side dish or dessert to share. We will provide a main course to be announced, with carnivore and vegetarian options.
