17 May 2015 Worship Service and Religious Education for Children and Youth

CarlSaganQuoteMay2015Please join us on Sunday (17 May 2015) at 11:00 AM for “Short of the Glory” by Rev. Barbara Jarrell.

We will continue our exploration of our fifth source (“Humanist teachings which counsel us to heed the guidance of reason and the results of science, and to avoid idolatries of the mind and spirit”).

We will have a second collection for the Financial Ministry of Highland Center Ministries and Pelican State Credit Union (which offers lower cost loans that are a viable alternative to the payday lending debt trap.  Several members of the Board are collaborating to match up to $1000 so know that whatever you contribute is likely to be doubled and then matched again by Pelican.  Plan now to give to this very worthy cause tomorrow morning.

After our Sunday worship service, we will be holding a very important congregational business meeting — please attend.

9 May 2015 Building and Grounds Work Day

AllSoulsSanctuaryPlease join us on Saturday (9 May 2015) from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM for our monthly building and grounds work day.

Rain or shine, inside or out — this work day will go on as scheduled.

If the weather cooperates, we’ll continue work on the nature trail and other outside tasks.

But we also have things to do inside.

Come one, come all, young and old, great and small, and we will put you to work!

Stay the whole time or give as much time as you have to spare (even if it’s just to drop off snacks for the crew).

Most of the work to maintain our building and grounds is done by volunteers.  It’s a great way to build community and get to know your All Souls community better.

Hope to see you there!

This year, a number of our congregants nominated Dr. Salvatore for his relentless work to raise public awareness of the proposed open burn of the M6 propellents at Camp Minden and for his commitment to follow through as a member of the Dialogue Committee for the purpose of finding a safer method of disposal.

Dr. Salvatore will also be our guest speaker for the service which will also feature music from the All Souls Choir, Sandra Odom and Lip Service Trio (Barbara Jarrell, Sandra Odom, and Cookie Garner)
