Pledge to Vote 2024 Statewide Kickoff (16 September 2024)

The Pledge to Vote 2024 Statewide Kickoff is happening on 16 September 2024 at 6:00 PM via Zoom.

Pledge to Vote is a non-partisan statewide effort to rebuild a culture of voting in Louisiana through the strength of our institutions.

It is a strategy that has already proven to close the turnout gap at the local level and we want to see increased turnout across the state.

Pledge to Vote also features a healthy competition between participating institutions — although All Souls might not place first in the number of voters — we think we could excel in percentage of our members taking the pledge and voting.

End of Summer Swim Party and Potluck (18 August 2024)

Please join us at the end of summer swim party and potluck immediately after our annual water communion worship service at the home of Kathy Osuch and Mike Roberts.

Once again, we are grateful to Kathy and Mike for opening their wonderful yard and pool to us for this annual gathering.

We will celebrate summer before the new church year begins.

Bring a dish to share, bring the kids, bring your friends, and join us.

You do not have to swim to attend but please know that we are a non-body-shaming congregation (believing that all ages, shapes, and sizes deserve to cool off in water when it’s so frickin’ hot outside).

The address for the pool party will be provided at church on Sunday and via the All Souls Shreveport Caring Connection Facebook group.

The Game Changers Free Documentary Screening (15 September 2024)

Please join us on Sunday (15 September 2024) at 3:00 PM for a free screening of the documentary film The Game Changers followed by a discussion.

The Game Changers is a revolutionary documentary about meat, protein, and strength — this free documentary screening is sponsored by the All Souls Peace Alliance.

The documentary follows the story of a mixed martial arts fighter who faces some health challenges and discovers that everything he has been taught about protein and building strength has been wrong.  The team of executive producers includes James and Suzy Cameron, Arnold Schwarzenegger, and Jackie Chan.

The All Souls Peace Alliance is a group exploring veganism as a path to peace.  You need not be vegan in order to participate.  If you are vegan-curious or just wanting to add more vegan options to your diet, you are more than welcome.

Monthly Building and Grounds Work Day (10 August 2024)

Our monthly building and ground work day has moved to the summer schedule — Saturday, 10 August 2024 from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM.

With warmer summer weather, our monthly building and grounds work day will be changing to an earlier schedule (9:00 AM to 2:00 PM) in hopes of avoiding the heat.

Other than basic mowing and indoor cleaning, most of the work to maintain our physical space is done by the members and friends of All Souls.

We have tasks indoors and out for all ages and ability levels and there is a high probability of snacks.
