Next Week — Blessing of the Animals (2 October 2022)

On 2 October 2022 at 11:00 AM, we will have our annual Blessing of the Animals worship service.

All of our animal friends are invited to join us in the sanctuary for a special service celebrating our shared home in the interdependent web of all existence.

Bring your furry, feathered, scaled, or finned friends — 4-legged, more-legged, or no-legged — into the sanctuary to celebrate with us.

Please bring all pets on leashes or in carriers (even the most docile pets can react unpredictably in new surroundings).

Stuffed animals and pictures of your pets are also most welcome.

The service will include a memorial for the pets we’ve lost.

For more information, contact Jennifer Russell.

Slave State Documentary Screening (24 September 2022)

Please join us this Saturday evening (24 September 2022) at 7:00 PM for an in-person screening of the documentary film Slave State.

This is a documentary film inspired by the book Slave State:  Evidence of Apartheid in America by Curtis Ray Davis II.

All Souls Unitarian Universalist Church is honored to host a screening of this documentary film.

This is Policy Films first film of this length — produced in collaboration with the non-profit organization Decarcerate Louisiana.

The documentary highlights the grassroots movement by Decarcerate Louisiana to sponsor Louisiana legislation to remove slavery from the state constitution with the help of State Rep. Edmond Jordan of District 29.

A Q and A session with author and activist Curtis Davis will follow the screening.

Come and learn how slavery still exists in Louisiana along with the importance of voting yes on Amendment 7 on 8 November 2022 to abolish slavery in our state.
