That’s the theme of this year’s fabulous Silent Auction Party where the auction is silent, but the party is not!

Or dress as you would to go to your high school reunion …

Or dress as if you went to high school in the fashion era of your choice.

The party will be at Cohabitat (610 Commerce Street, Shreveport, Louisiana) on Saturday, 19 November 2011, from 6:30 PM to 9:30 PM.

The event is catered by A Stone’s Throw Cafe with musical entertainment by Lip Service Trio and Twang Darkly.

Other entertainment by … oh, wait, that’s a surprise.

Building and Grounds Work Day – 12 November 2011

This announcement comes from Patrick Early (Building and Grounds Co-Chair)

We will have a building and grounds work day this Saturday (12 November 2011) from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM.

We have many routine tasks to be done, such as changing A/C filters, insuring the restrooms are clean and stocked, burnt out bulbs and fluorescent tubes are replaced, the sidewalks and patios are cleaned of leaves, etc.

In addition, we are planning to clean the playground in preparation for equipment repairs, we need to clean the church roof and the guttering of fall leaves and pine straw, we want to repair and maintain the nature trail and the pathway to the meditation deck.  The deck itself is in need of substantial maintenance work.

It is my intention to be there, but frankly right now I cannot do much, as my Doctor has ordered me to “Stay off your feet!” What I can do, I will.  I look forward to seeing you there.

Patrick Early,
Building and Grounds Co-Chair

Worship for Sunday, 6 November 2011

On Sunday (6 November 2011) at 11:00 AM, please join us for “Giving Back to the Future” by Robert Smith (All Souls Annual Canvass Chair) and Rev. Susan M. Smith (District Executive — Southwestern Conference of the Unitarian Universalist Association)

This service kicks off the annual pledge campaign by which we make the ministries of this church possible.  As we approach the season of giving and thanksgiving, it is time to reflect on how the generosity of the past serves us now and the legacy that we are creating in our own day.  In the week following this service, every member will have an opportunity to share with a canvasser what All Souls means to you and your dreams for its future.

Coming Sunday, 13 November 2011 — Claudia Harris.
