17 June 2012 Worship Service — Reflections on Father’s Day

In the Religious Education Wing, the Seven Principle Summer continues as the 2nd – 5th Graders learn about the First Principle — celebrating The Inherent Worth and Dignity of Every Person (“Every person is important and valuable”).

10 June 2012 Worship Service

Please join us this Sunday (10 June 2012) for our 11:00 AM worship service.

Adrienne Critcher of PACE (People Acting for Change and Equality) is in the pulpit this Sunday with her message “Celebrating Pride:  Be Fair Shreveport — Make Us All Proud!”

PACE and the Forum for Equality have begun a campaign promoting non-discrimination in local employment practices.  Come learn more about this campaign as we celebrate bisexual, gay, lesbian,  and transgender pride.

We will also have a second offering collection for All Souls’ co-sponsorship of PACE’s Fourth Annual Gay and Lesbian Film Festival.

3 June 2012 Worship Service

Please join us on Sunday (3 June 2012) at 11:00 AM for our worship service.

Rev. Barbara Jarrell is in the pulpit this Sunday for the last time before her summer vacation and study break.  The All Souls Choir will sing and we will also take a moment in the service to recognize the dedicated volunteers who teach in our Religious Education program.

27 May 2012 Memorial Day Worship Service

Please join us on Sunday (27 May 2012) at 11:00 AM for our Memorial Day Worship Service.  We remember those lost as we honor those who serve.

The All Souls Choir will sing, and — in the Religious Education Wing — the Children and Youth will write letters and cards to troops deployed in Iraq and Afghanistan.

We will also be collecting items to give to Operation Support Our Troops — a local organization that collects and packages a wide variety of useful items to send to our deployed service members.  Feel free to check out this Wish List and bring any of the items in question.  We will have a box in the Social Hall to collect them.

After the worship service, we will have our congregational business meeting.

13 May 2012 Worship Service

Please join us this Sunday (13 May 2012) at 11:00 AM for our Mothers’ Day worship service.  Rev. Barbara Jarrell is in the pulpit and the All Souls Choir will sing.

Next Sunday (20 May 2012), we celebrate Affirmation Sunday where we honor the transitions of our children and youth, an ingathering ceremony for our new members, and the bridging of our graduating senior, Thomas Ratcliff.

This Sunday (6 May 2012) at 11:00 AM, please join us for “Companions for the Journey” — our quarterly series featuring reflections from our members on the spiritual journeys that brought them to our doors and the reasons they stay.

We will hear from Sarah Boswell, Bennett Upton, and Ron Thurston. The All Souls Choir will sing as well.

Next Sunday (13 May 2012), Rev. Barbara Jarrell returns to the pulpit.

29 April 2012 Worship Service

Please join us this Sunday (29 April 2012) at 11:00 AM to hear “Eastern Religion’s Alternatives to Western Religion’s Trinities” by Ron Babers Hagar

Back by popular demand from his new home in Waco TX, Ron is in the pulpit this morning and the All Souls Choir will sing a special song chosen by Ron especially for this service.

Those of you who know Ron already know what a unique experience a service of his can be and you will want to come and welcome Ron and Cheryl back to town.  If you’ve never been to one of Ron’s services, you are in for a treat.

22 April 2012 Earth Day Worship Service and Chili Cook-off

Please join us on Sunday, 22 April 2012, at 11:00 AM for “A Web of Roots:  A Celebration of Earth Day.”

Rev, Barbara Jarrell is in the pulpit and the All Souls Choir will sing.

We will have a Newcomer Information Session following the service and — of course — everyone will want to stay and vote for their favorite chili in the All Souls Chili Cook-Off.

Interdependence Day Worship — 11:00 AM – Sunday, 15 April 2012

Please join us at 11:00 AM on Sunday, 15 April 2012 to celebrate our pillar on Peace, Social Justice and the Interdependent Web.

The children, youth and adults of All Souls will explore the many ways we practice the Seventh Principle in our relationship to the Earth and to each other.

The All Souls Choir will sing, and this is also your last opportunity to hear Joshua Pepper at the piano before he leaves Shreveport.  Please come to be with us to enjoy the music and wish Joshua well.

Next week (22 April 2012) is Earth Day and Reverend Barbara Jarrell will be in the pulpit.

11:00 AM Easter Worship Service — Sunday, 8 April 2012

This Sunday (8 April 2012) at 11:00 AM, please join us for our Easter Worship Service with Rev. Barbara Jarrell in the pulpit this morning.  The All Souls Choir will sing with Joshua Pepper at the piano.

At the end of the service, we will offer a communion ritual that is inclusive and welcoming of all spiritual paths, although those still not wishing to participate are given an opportunity to leave.

Following the service, all children are invited to participate in our annual Easter Egg Hunt.  See below for the details.
