Home is Here Shreveport — March 2023 Give-Away-The-Plate Recipient

Each month we dedicate all of our non-pledge income to an organization doing the work that best embodies our Unitarian Universalist principles and values.

For the month of March 2023, we choose Home is Here Shreveport (based on the program by the same name in New Orleans).

All Souls members have joined with others in the community with the aim of sponsoring more newly arrived immigrants through a program called Home is Here.

In order to raise money to get our sponsorees who have settled in the community, Louisiana Advocates for Immigrants in Detention has made it possible for us to raise money for Home is Here Shreveport through their non-profit organization.

Two ways to donate:

OnlineGo to our donation site using this link.  If you are paying your pledge, select “2023 Pledges” and enter that amount for your pledge contribution.  Then select “Collection Plate” to give the amount you would like to give to the Home is Here Shreveport and then put “GATP MAR 2023” or “HOME IS HERE” in the comment section.  All online collection plate contributions for the month of March 2023 will go to Home is Here Shreveport.

Offline — Please send your give away the plate contribution checks to All Souls Unitarian Universalist Church, 9449 Ellerbe Road, Shreveport LA  71106.  Please put “Home is Here Shreveport” on the memo line of the check if  you want to have 100% of your check go to Home is Here Shreveport.  If you want less than 100% of your check to go to Home is Here Shreveport, please put the amount you want going to Home is Here Shreveport on the memo line.

Online Adult Religious Education — 5 March 2023

Please join us on Sunday (5 March 2023) as we continue our new series in our our adult religious education class at 9:00 AM.

Our adult religious education class is still meeting via Zoom.

We have several persons in the adult religious education class who are new to our faith tradition and others who would like a chance to revisit the principles around that Unitarian Universalist congregations covenant to affirm and promote (including the eighth principle).

We are going to take some Sundays to do that.

How many Sundays?  We don’t know yet.

We are also be continuing the conversation about “Where do we go from here?”

If you have questions, email Susan Caldwell or text her with your questions.
