All Ages Worship (13 August 2023)

Please join us on Sunday (13 August 2023) at 11:00 AM for our annual water communion worship service — an all-ages celebration where we return after the summer with with Rev. Barbara Jarrell and the All Souls congregation.

We will be meeting in the sanctuary for this worship service.  Please join us in person at All Souls Unitarian Universalist Church, 9449 Ellerbe Road, Shreveport LA  71106 if you are able to do so.

Our service will also be livestreamed on Facebook Live here if you cannot attend in person.

The risk for Caddo, Bossier and De Soto Parishes (the Shreveport metro area) are all low — the CDC does not recommend mandatory masking for all indoor events in “low” risk areas.

See the CDC website and the COVIDActNow website for more details.

Starting on 13 November 2022, masks will be optional indoors at All Souls.

Anyone who prefers to keep wearing a mask is welcome to do so and attending worship through livestream video is also an option.

We will still have KN95 masks available in the foyer for anyone who needs one.

We continue to recommend that you stay home if you have any symptoms, and that you keep up with all available vaccinations and boosters.

Please use this link to evaluate the current COVID risk for the Shreveport-Bossier City metro area as you make your decisions regarding masking and other COVID preventive measures while attending All Souls.

We no longer require proof of vaccination against COVID for all attendees ages 11 and up for indoor events.

However, we do strongly encourage that anyone attending our worship services or other indoor events at All Souls be vaccinated against COVID.

Please use good judgment and stay home if you have any symptoms.  Even those who have tested negative for COVID can later test positive.

Our August 2023 give-away-the-plate recipient is the OUTNorthLa Film Festival.

And you can contribute to All Souls using this online resource.

Potluck Lunch with Live Music (13 August 2023)

We will have a potluck lunch with live music provided by Bob Jordan, Gail Burt, and Jean Kelly immediately after our 11:00 AM worship on 13 August 2023.

Bring a dish to pass or just show up to join us after the 11:00 AM service for a potluck featuring live music by our own Bob Jordan, Gail Burt, and Jean Kelly.

It’ll be a great time to grab some lunch, hear some great music from multiple eras, and spend some time with your All Souls friends.

After lunch, you can run home for your swimsuit before you join us at the all-ages swim party at the home of Kathy Osuch and Mike Roberts (3:00 PM – 6:00 PM).

Online and In-Person Adult Religious Education — 13 August 2023

Please join us on Sunday (13 August 2023) for our adult religious education class at 9:00 AM.

Our adult religious education class is now a dual-platform class — meeting in person in the church social hall and also on Zoom.

Since it’s our first time for us to meet together after a 3 week break, we will check in and take some time to talk about possibilities for the group going forward.

End of Summer Swim Party (13 August 2023)

Please join us for our end of summer swim party for all ages on Sunday (13 August 2023) from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM.

This swim party will happen at the home of Kathy Osuch and Mike Roberts.

Join us on Sunday afternoon — and please note the different time for this year’s swim party.

Instead of doing this right after church as we have done in the past, we are starting at 3:00 PM in hopes of avoiding the very hottest part of these unusually hot summer days.

This will give you a chance to grab lunch at the potluck and still have time to go home and grab your swimsuit.

We will have snacks and drinks at the pool.  Bring your kids — kids, bring your parents — and join us for an afternoon of multi-generational fun.

Address and directions to Kathy and Mike’s will be furnished at church on the day of the event and also through the All Souls Caring Connection Facebook Group.

Cards for Community — Summer Activities for Children and Youth (30 July 2023)

During the summer, our children and youth participate in various fun artistic and creative activities.

On this Sunday (6 August 2023), our children and youth will create cards of support for Community Unitarian Universalist Church of Plano TX with Ash McLain and Noah Wagstatff.

Two weeks ago this Sunday, the church building of Community Unitarian Universalist Church was firebombed in the very early hours of the morning.

No one was there at the time so no one was physically hurt.  First responders arrived quickly thanks to the church alarm system as well as a motorist passing by who called in the fire.  There was damage to the front doors and entryway and the congregation held services that same Sunday morning.

They are taking care of their own presently and have said that they appreciate the cards, letters, and expressions of support that have come in from Unitarian Universalists and others all over the country.

Come check out this artistic activity after the worship service.
