All-Ages Worship (11 September 2022)

Please join us this Sunday (11 September 2022) at 11:00 AM for the presentation of the 2022 Emerson Award to Kathaleen Pittman (Executive Director — Hope Medical Group for Women).

We honor Kathaleen for her years of service and unyielding dedication to the rights of all people to plan their families as they choose and to seek abortion care as needed.

The Emerson Award is given annually by our congregation to the individual or organization in the wider community whose life and work best exemplify the values and principles of liberal religion.

We will be meeting in the sanctuary for this worship service.  Please join us in person at All Souls Unitarian Universalist Church, 9449 Ellerbe Road, Shreveport LA  71106 if you are able to do so.

Our service will also be livestreamed on Facebook Live here if you cannot attend in person.

Although the number of new COVID cases and hospitalizations has increased in the Shreveport metro area, we are still safe to have to in-person worship at this time.

We no longer require proof of vaccination against COVID for all attendees ages 11 and up for indoor events.

However, we do strongly encourage that anyone attending our worship services or other indoor events at All Souls be vaccinated against COVID.

We are also required the wearing of masks for all in-person attendees for all indoor events.

Religious education classes for children and youth resumes this Sunday as well.  The children and youth will be with us for the first 15-20 minutes of the worship service before we sing them out to their classes.

Our September 2022 give-away-the-plate recipient is Highland Center Ministries.

And you can contribute to All Souls using this online resource.

Online Adult Religious Education — 11 September 2022

Please join us on Sunday (11 September 2022) at 9:00 AM for “WhUU Dat (yeah, we did that . . . join us anyway)” via Zoom and facilitated by  Susan Caldwell and Barbara Deger.

This Sunday we will try and answer the question “WhUU Dat?” as an introductory session to Unitarian Universalist theology along with a proposal to the group on how much further we would like to go with this in this season where our children and you are also exploring our Unitarian Universalist identity.

Children and Youth Religious Education for 11 September 2022

As the church year begins, our classes will be meeting separately for activities and discussion around our Unitarian Universalist principles and how they fit into our history and our daily lives.

For most weeks, they will be joining together for part of the hour to continue work on the updated mural in the middle and high school room.

PreK – 5th Grade — The group will continue the Toolbox of Faith series this week — focusing on the magnifying glass and the value of questioning and looking more deeply into things. We will look at all kinds of stuff under the glass and learn about a UU astronomer who did the same thing with her telescope and the night sky.

Middle and High School — The group will continue their exploration of the prophetic people of our faith — in history and in the present day — and look at the relationship between our eight principles, our six sources, and our five pillars in the All Souls church year.
