All Ages Worship (26 March 2023)
Please join us on Sunday (26 March 2023) at 11:00 AM for “The Writing on the Wall” by Claudia Harris.
Join us as we welcome Claudia Harris back to our pulpit with a message encompassing social justice and our anxiety concerning change.
We will be meeting in the sanctuary for this worship service. Please join us in person at All Souls Unitarian Universalist Church, 9449 Ellerbe Road, Shreveport LA 71106 if you are able to do so.
Our service will also be livestreamed on Facebook Live here if you cannot attend in person.
The current COVID risk for the Shreveport metro area (Caddo Parish, Bossier Parish, DeSoto Parish) is now “low” and the CDC does not recommend mandatory masking for all indoor events in “low” risk areas (Bossier Parish is now “medium” risk but the metro area is still “low” risk).
See the CDC website and the COVIDActNow website for more details.
Starting on 13 November 2022, masks will be optional indoors at All Souls.
Anyone who prefers to keep wearing a mask is welcome to do so and attending worship through livestream video is also an option.
We will still have KN95 masks available in the foyer for anyone who needs one.
We continue to recommend that you stay home if you have any symptoms, and that you keep up with all available vaccinations and boosters.
Please use this link to evaluate the current COVID risk for the Shreveport-Bossier City metro area as you make your decisions regarding masking and other COVID preventive measures while attending All Souls.
We no longer require proof of vaccination against COVID for all attendees ages 11 and up for indoor events.
However, we do strongly encourage that anyone attending our worship services or other indoor events at All Souls be vaccinated against COVID.
Please use good judgment and stay home if you have any symptoms. Even those who have tested negative for COVID can later test positive.

Please join us on Sunday (26 March 2023) as we continue our new series in our our adult religious education class at 9:00 AM.
Our adult religious education class is still meeting via Zoom.
We have several persons in the adult religious education class who are new to our faith tradition and others who would like a chance to revisit the principles around that Unitarian Universalist congregations covenant to affirm and promote (including the eighth principle).
This Sunday, we will explore the current work of the Article II Study Commission of the UUA and what the principles may look like in the coming years.
Children and Youth Religious Education Classes — 26 March 2023
Children and youth will attend the worship service for the first 15-20 minutes and then are dismissed to their classes.
We are now discussing peace, social justice, and the interdependent web and these ideas connect to our Unitarian Universalist faith.
Elementary class with Ash McLain and Kevin Henry will explore “Friendship with People Different from You” looking at the importance of friendships that embrace differences as they celebrate commonalities.
Middle and High School Class with Noah Wagstaff and Dawn Subasic will continue their exploration of Allport’s Ladder of Prejudice — a timeline created by Gordon Allport using the timeline of the Holocaust to show how name calling leads to economic and legislative attacks that lead to physical attacks that can ultimately lead to genocide). What are the patterns we see in the present day and how are we called to stand in integrity with our UU principles and values?
For this week’s class, the middle and high school youth will will watch the first half of the film Defying the Nazis: The Sharps’ War — a documentary about the refugee work of the Rev. Waitstill Sharp and his wife Martha in the Lisbon office of the Unitarian Service Committee before and during World War II.
