Announcement of Congregational Meeting (18 January 2026)

On Sunday (18 January 2026) immediately after the 11:00 AM worship service, we will have a congregational meeting.

On the agenda — Approval of the 2026 budget.

You can attend in person or via Zoom.

Congregational meetings are open to all but only active members may vote.

We must have a quorum.

Meditation with Larry Androes (3 January 2026)

Please join us on Saturday (3 January 2026) at 10:30 AM for our weekly meditation group with Larry Androes.

This group will be meeting via Zoom and not in person.

This is a sitting Buddhist meditation including a brief introduction to mindfulness meditation, 20 minutes of sitting, and followed by a weekly teaching.

All Ages Worship (28 December 2025)

Please join us this Sunday (28 December 2025) at 11:00 AM for “Sitting Here in Limbo” by Rev. Barbara Jarrell.

If you purchased a poinsettia for the sanctuary, you may take it home today with our thanks.  In lifting up the honor and memory of your loved ones, you helped to create a beautiful altar for the holidays.

Our service will also be livestreamed on Facebook Live here if you cannot attend in person.

We are moving our videos from Facebook to YouTube for long-term storage and viewing — you can find our worship videos on YouTube here.

State-level COVID data can be found on the Louisiana Department of Health’s respiratory virus dashboard web page.  The most sensitive metric to follow for current COVID trends is the “Laboratory Surveillance Data” link.

RSV and Flu continue to show significant increases as 13 December 2025 while COVID is not spiking yet for the winter.

Keep in mind that this is the best available information for Louisiana.

The Louisiana Department of Health will not be updating this information until 9 January 2026 due to the Christmas and New Years holidays.

Masking and COVID vaccination are optional for attending in-person events at All Souls.

We encourage you to be vaccinated against COVID and to also have the most-current COVID booster shots.  This provides greater protection to the individual and the church community.

Anyone who prefers wearing a mask is welcome to do so for in-person events and attending worship through livestream video is also an option where required for medical or schedule conflict reasons.

We will still have KN95 masks available in the foyer for anyone who needs one.

We continue to recommend that you stay home if you have any symptoms and that you keep up with all available vaccinations and boosters.

If you are recovering from COVID and have no symptoms, you should mask in public until you have tested negative twice in a 48 hour period.

We also ask that you go by the previous CDC guidelines of waiting at least 5 days past the onset of symptoms rather than the current 24 hour recommendation.

If you have symptoms for COVID or other respiratory illness, please stay home and take care of yourself.

Our December 2025 give-away-the-plate recipient is North Louisiana Interfaith.

And you can contribute to All Souls using this online resource.

Our adult religious education class will be taking a break for the next two Sundays (31 December 2025 and 4 January 2026).

On 11 January 2026, we will resume our study of Understanding the Bible:  A Guide for Skeptics, Seekers, and Religious Liberals by former Unitarian Universalist Association President Rev. John Buerhens.

Copies of this book are available at the church.

Meditation with Larry Androes (27 December 2025)

Please join us on Saturday (27 December 2025) at 10:30 AM for our weekly meditation group with Larry Androes.

This group will be meeting via Zoom and not in person.

This is a sitting Buddhist meditation including a brief introduction to mindfulness meditation, 20 minutes of sitting, and followed by a weekly teaching.

Christmas Eve Candlelight Worship Service Video (24 December 2025)

This is our traditional candlelight worship when all are welcomed into the sanctuary to hear the Christmas story from the Book of Luke, to sing all the carols with the traditional words, and to hear the choir perform with our special musical guest violinist Henry Edwards.

Please note that this video recording is not a complete recording — we had a technical issue where Zoom and Facebook quit working together during the service.

This caused our live streaming broadcast and our recording to end prematurely.

Christmas Eve Candlelight Worship Service (24 December 2025)

Please join us this Wednesday (24 December 2025) at 6:30 PM for our annual Christmas Eve Candlelight Worship Service.

Our Christmas Eve service will be streamed live on Facebook and will be available in our YouTube channel after the worship service.

We will once again have our traditional candlelight worship when all are welcomed into the sanctuary to hear the Christmas story from the Book of Luke, to sing all the carols with the traditional words, and to hear the choir perform with our special musical guest violinist Henry Edwards, and to see the candle light growing in the darkened window.

Please bring your children by 6:00 PM if they want to participate in the Twelve Days of Christmas.
