15 July 2018 Worship Service and Summer Fun for Children and Youth

Please join us on Sunday (15 July 2018) at 11:00 AM for “Keeping Your Head in the Age of Twitter: Not Being Hijacked by Hashtags” by Claudia Harris.

A Reminder that “Give Away the Plate Has Changed”  — rather than selecting one charity or non-profit at the end of the month, we now give half of all of our non-pledge income for the entire month to a selected non-profit.

For the month of July 2018 , we have chosen RAICES (Refugee and Immigrant Center for Education and Legal Services).

We are breaking with our usual custom of choosing a local non-profit due to the RAICES campaign to reunite the families separated at the border and their offer of a bond check of $20 million to release all the mothers of the 2500 immigrant children who were separated from their parents.

Founded in 1986, RAICES provides free and low-cost legal services to underserved immigrant children, families, and refugees in Texas.

Summer fun activities for children and youth are offered during the 11:00 AM service.  This week’s summer fun is crafts and games with Kayla and Jax.

A newcomer information session will immediately follow the service — childcare provided.

9 April 2017 All-Ages Worship Service

Please join us on Sunday (9 April 2017) at 11:00 AM for “The Great Kapok Tree” — a worship service by the children, youth, and adults of All Souls.

This story by Lynne Cherry has much to tell us about the interdependent web and how all life is dependent upon and responsible for all other life.

It is a good reminder of the way we should look after the planet which also extends to the way we look out for each other.

Our guest for this service and immediately afterward will be Ms. Lily Jonsek of PAX who will do a brief pulpit editorial during the service, and a presentation after our worship service.

PAX brings exchange students from predominantly Muslim countries and countries in the Former Soviet Union.  They are interested in talking to people about being host families for these students — a light lunch will be served.

We will also have a newcomer session following the service.
