2022 Emerson Award Honoree

Join us on Sunday (11 September 2022) at 11:00 AM for the annual presentation of the Ralph Waldo Emerson Award.

The Emerson Award is given annually by our congregation to the individual or organization in the wider community whose life and work best exemplify the values and principles of liberal religion.

In 2022, we are honored to present the award to Kathaleen Pittman (Director of Hope Medical Group) for her years of service and unyielding dedication to the rights of all people to plan their families as they choose and to seek abortion care as needed.

All-Ages Worship (14 August 2022)

Please join us this Sunday (14 August  2022) at 11:00 AM for “Body and Spirit, United as One” by Rev. Barbara Jarrell.

We will be meeting in the sanctuary for this worship service.  Please join us in person at All Souls Unitarian Universalist Church, 9449 Ellerbe Road, Shreveport LA  71106 if you are able to do so.

Our service will also be livestreamed on Facebook Live here if you cannot attend in person.

Although the number of new COVID cases and hospitalizations has increased in the Shreveport metro area, we are still safe to have to in-person worship at this time.

We no longer require proof of vaccination against COVID for all attendees ages 11 and up for indoor events.

However, we do strongly encourage that anyone attending our worship services or other indoor events at All Souls be vaccinated against COVID.

We are also required the wearing of masks for all in-person attendees for all indoor events.

Religious education classes for children and youth resumes this Sunday as well.  The children and youth will be with us for the first 15-20 minutes of the worship service before we sing them out to their classes.

Please join us on Sunday (3 July 2022) for “The State of the Union:  Suprisingly, Not as Bad as it Seems” with Amanda Lawrence and friends.

It is a hard and dangerous time for human rights in this country of that there is no doubt.

However, believe it or not, we are in a better position to handle it now than we were before Roe v. Wade in 1972.

The mourning is real but so is hope.  Join us as we welcome our own Amanda Lawrence back to the pulpit.

All-Ages Potluck Brunch and Sunday Morning Worship from General Assembly (Portland, Oregon — 26 June 2022)

Please join us on Sunday (26 June 2022) at 11:00 AM for an all-ages potluck and viewing of the Sunday morning worship service at the UUA General Assembly in Portland, Oregon.

Bring a dish to share and join us in the Social Hall for a potluck brunch and viewing of this worship service.

The potluck starts at 11:00 AM and the worship service starts at 11:30 AM.

Dine with your All Souls friends as you worship with Unitarian Universalists from all over the world.

Please join us on Sunday (19 June 2022) at 11:00 AM for “In the Shadow of Bloody Caddo:  Reflections on Reconstruction in Northwest Louisiana” by Frank Severic (graduate research assistant at the Northwest Louisiana Archives at LSU-Shreveport).

In light of the antiracism work we are doing and in light of the current trend to try to hide or erase real history, we need these reckonings with the history of our community and our nation.
