8 July 2018 Worship Service and Summer Fun for Children and Youth

Please join us on Sunday (8 July 2018) at 11:00 AM for “The Day Will Come When the Church Will Break Your Heart — A Joyful Message (No, really … )” by Susan Caldwell (All Souls Director of Lifespan Religious Education).

Our tradition is a covenantal one — meaning that what unites us are the promises we make to each other about the ways we will be together, rather than any prescribed creed or test of faith.

Community is a vital and integral part of the spiritual practice of Unitarian Universalism.

But here’s the thing about covenants — they are made by human beings.

What calls us back when the covenant is broken, or even just dented a little.

We’ll look back to our religious forebears, and to each other, for some of the answers, or perhaps just for more and better questions.

Summer fun activities for children and youth are offered during the 11:00 AM service (activity TBA).

Adult Religious Education — 8 July 2018

Please join us on Sunday (8 July 2018) at 9:15 AM for our adult religious education class.

We will conclude our discussion of Daring Democracy: Igniting Power, Meaning, and Connection for the America We Want by Frances Moore Lappe and Adam Eichen.

Before the break, we got through the really depressing “this is how we got here” chapters.

Yes, five families have essentially highjacked democracy in our country and there is no turning away from that fact.

However, the rest of the book offers practical advice on “how we fix it,” as well as success stories from various states and a reminder that democracy is not a spectator sport.

Join us for a dose of hope.
