15 September 2019 Worship Service and Religious Education for Children and Youth

Please join us on Sunday (15 September 2019) at 11:00 AM for our annual Homecoming worship service with Rev Barbara Jarrell and our congregation (all of us).

Whether your last visit was a decade ago, last week’s service, or a midweek meeting, we invite and welcome you back to All Souls.

Come and join us for this service in celebration of our congregation.

We will be be ingathering new members, paying tribute to those who have been a part of us for 25 years or longer, and celebrating the history and legacy of our faith community.

And lots and lots of great music from the All Souls Choir and our guest musicians, Weldon Stutes, Randy Guynes, and Hannah Bradley.

Religious education classes for children and youth are offered during the 11:00 AM service.  Children and youth attend the first 15-20 minutes of the service and then are dismissed to class.

Be sure to join us afterward for a Homecoming Potluck — a chance to reunite with old friends and make some new friends.

Whether you make your favorite recipe, run across the street and pick something up at Kroger, or just show up, do join us for this chance to spend a little more time together.

  • We need LOTS of people to wash and clean the playground structures.
  • We need someone, or a few someones, to dust pulpit, pews, and altar table in the sanctuary, and clean chairs and tables in the classroom.
  • For the little ones, we need all of our old markers tested to see how many have bitten the dust.

Deborah Warren has volunteered to bring lunch for the crew.
For more information, call Earlene Venable at 318-205-9971.
Hope to see you Saturday!

25 August 2019 Artist Sunday All-Ages Worship and Art Show/Sale

Please join us this Sunday (25 August 2019) for our annual Artist Sunday worship at 11:00 AM.  We will have a visual arts show and sale before and after this worship service as well (10:00 AM to 1:30 PM).
Join us for one of our most beloved services of the year.
Every element of the 11:00 service is some form of performing art — instrumental or vocal music, poetry or prose, dance, performance art, or sometimes even acrobatics, martial arts,  juggling or magic.
That same morning in the religious education wing, visual artists and artisans are invited to bring their work for show or sale.
Whether you paint, draw, sculpt, make jewelry, or however you create beauty, come and share that with our members and friends.

Building and Grounds Work Day — 8 June 2019

Please join us on Saturday (8 June 2019) from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM for our monthly building and grounds work day.

Most of the care and maintenance of our physical church home is done by us — the members and friends of All Souls.

This is a great opportunity for you not only to contribute to the stewardship of our surroundings and also to get to know your fellow church members and strengthen our community.

Come for the whole time or just an hour or two if that’s all you can spare.

And if your day’s too busy to stick around, consider dropping off snacks for the crew — see you this Saturday!

We realize the morning event may be hard for many to attend — but if you can possibly take the time off — this is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for you and our church.
