Meditation with Larry Androes (27 April 2024)

Please join us on Saturday (27 April 2024) at 10:30 AM for our weekly meditation group with Larry Androes.

This group will be meeting via Zoom and not in person.

This is a sitting Buddhist meditation including a brief introduction to mindfulness meditation, 20 minutes of sitting, and followed by a weekly teaching.

The group is free and open to all.

Children and Youth Religious Education (21 April 2024)

For this Sunday (21 April 2024), both classes — grades pre-K through 5 and middle school / high school == will continue their focus on peace, social justice, and the interdependent web.

Both classes will further explore the proposed Unitarian Universalist values to come before the General Assembly this summer thanks to the wonder of JETPIG (justice, equity, transformation, pluralism, interdependence, and generosity).

Online and In-Person Adult Religious Education — 21 April 2024

Please join us on Sunday (21 April 2024) for our adult religious education class at 9:00 AM.

Our adult religious education class is now a dual-platform class — meeting in person in the church social hall and also on Zoom.

For this Sunday, we are viewing “Banned in the USA” (Washington Post video interview with Chimimanda Ngozi Adichie) followed by a discussion.

Children and Youth Religious Education (14 April 2024)

For this Sunday, both classes will continue their focus on peace, social justice, and the interdependent web.

The pre-K thru grade 5 elementary class will continue learning about the proposed Unitarian Universalist values to be considered by congregational General Assembly delegates this summer (thanks to the wonder of JETPIG — Justice, Equity, Tranformation, Pluralism, Interdependence, and Generosity)!

The middle and high School class will help with setup for the bake sale happening after the worship service.

Our adult religious education class is now a dual-platform class — meeting in person in the church social hall and also on Zoom.

For this Sunday, we are viewing the TED Talk video “The Danger of the Single Story” featuring the Nigerian author Chimimanda Ngozi Adichie followed with a discussion.

Children and Youth Religious Education (7 April 2024)

Children and youth will go to their regular classes after being sung out of the sanctuary.

The preschool through grades 5 children’s group will have a lesson and remain in their class.

The middle and high school  youth will have check-in and then join the adults to attend a webinar from Unitarian Universalists for Justice in the Middle East featuring Jewish and Muslim Unitarian Universalists who will offer resources for engaging on the topic of Israel and Palestine.

After viewing excerpts from this webinar, the adults and youth at All Souls will join other Unitarian Universalists across the country in a facilitated discussion.

Online and In-Person Adult Religious Education — 7 April 2024

Please join us on Sunday (7 April 2024) for our adult religious education class at 9:00 AM.

Our adult religious education class is now a dual-platform class — meeting in person in the church social hall and also on Zoom.

On 11 February 2024, the adult class watched “Why Awe is Such an Important Emotion” — a video featuring Dacher Keltner (author of Awe: The New Science of Everyday Wonder and How It Can Transform Your Life).

The adult class has decided to read his book together and all are welcome to join the class.

This week we will be discussing the final chapter in this book —  “Epiphany.”

We still have a few books available at church and we can always order more as needed.  The cost is a donation of $15.00 but please don’t let money be an obstacle to having the book if you want to be part of this group for the final session.
